Yoshimura RS-12

Be sure to check out the full aftermarket exhaust review article to see why I selected the Yoshi.

A carefully selected exhaust not only adds the performance gains you are seeking, but also adds a personalized, tailored element to your bike, dare I say an added emotional connection.

One of the things I love about the Yoshi exhaust system is the amount of thought, design, engineering, and detail that went into it’s creation.

Other than Akropovič, Yoshi is the only other brand to post it’s dyno numbers. I know, I know…dyno’s don’t tell the whole story. I agree (somewhat). For me, it’s not necessarily an indication of which exhaust is the best, but it is an indication of the confidence they have in their product and it’s performance versus stock.

The first think you will notice with the Yoshi system is the impeccable fit and finish. The joints were perfect, and the fit was precise.

The second thing you will notice is that you will be doing countless double-takes at your bike and it’s new and improved looks. You will also notice other’s doing the same.

The third thing you will notice is the enhanced exhaust tone. And the great thing is that this enhanced tone lasts so much longer than stock. I ended up having my mechanic repack the system at 50 hours and his professional examination it could have gone longer.

The fourth thing you will notice is the performance. As mentioned earlier, I know that dyno testing doesn’t tell the whole story, but in the case of the Yoshi RS-12 at 4,300 ft above sea level, my experience mirrored the dyno. Most notable was the increased range on the top end of the RPM range, which was one of the main things I was looking for.

At $980 (YZ250F version) I think it is the best overall system you can buy for the money. If you are considering an exhaust, I would definitely recommend that a Yoshi be a top contender.
